General Introduction
Students in teen living cover a wide variety of topics dealing with life skills and issues that are important to them now and in the future.
 
General Overview
Self-image and self-improvement
Making decisions
Smoking
Alcohol
Marijuana
Advertising
Coping with anxiety and anger
Communication skills
Social skills
Sewing
Self awareness/puberty
AIDS
 
Academic Expectations/Grades
Students are expected to do their best while participating in classroom activities, to pay attention, and to follow directions. Some quizzes contribute to grades, but grades are primarily determined by participation and project completion.
 
Behavior Expectations
Many different types of activities take place in the teen living classroom.  Some tools can be dangerous if misused.  Consequently, the first rule is
                    No horseplay!
                   
Other rules include:     
No gum or candy
                    Bring materials to class each day
                    Be responsible for yourself and your actions
                    Treat others as you would like to be treated
                    Do not interfere with the learning of anyone else

Consequences vary from verbal corrections and isolation or relocation of the student in the classroom to detention and/or removal from classroom.
