Music
Sixth graders in General Music will be introduced to many different aspects of music, which include: singing music, reading music and music appreciation.
They will be introduced to the basics that make up music and they will learn to follow written music and sing in two parts. They will also complete a unit on the symphony orchestra and learn to identify the instruments of the orchestra. Lessons on different composers and related listening will be included in this unit.
All of the sixth grade music program will be followed up and expanded upon in the seventh and eight grade music programs.
