Instructions for Students
How to save files on the Server

1. Start iBook and select airport or......
2. if using a desktop computer just start computer
3. On menu bar – select GO
4. Scroll down to SERVER (connect to server)
5. 1st dialogue box appears –
6. Verify server #:  if needed contact technology for number
7. Click on CONNECT
8. 2nd dialogue box opens
1. Login name:  student
2. Enter Password: contact technology if you need password
9. 3rd dialogue box opens
10. Select 6th, 7th, or 8th grade folder and click  OK
11. Double click on your teacher’s name
12. DO NOT close folder!    It will disappear and you will need to restart your computer.
13. Drag the file you wish to back up to your teacher’s folder- your cursor will turn to a green + sign, release mouse and file will copy into your teacher’s folder.
14. Verify that the file copied by looking to see if the file is in the teacher’s folder.

How to BACK UP files such as grades on the Server

1. Start iBook and select airport or......
2. if using a desktop computer just start computer
3. On menu bar – select GO
4. Scroll down to SERVER (connect to server)
5. 1st dialogue box appears –
6. Verify server #:  if needed contact technology for number
7. Click on CONNECT
8. 2nd dialogue box opens
1. Login name: teacher
2. Enter Password: contact technology if you need password
9. 3rd dialogue box opens
10. Select backups and click  OK
11. Double click on your teacher’s name
12. DO NOT close folder!    It may disappear and you will need to restart your computer.
13. Drag the file you wish to back up to your teacher’s folder- your cursor will turn to a green + sign, release mouse and file will copy into your teacher’s folder.
14. Verify that the file copied by looking to see if the file is in the teacher’s folder.
